Chimala Newsletter – Darrin & Carrie Stapleton – January, 2004Greetings from Chimala! We trust that all of you are well. Carrie and I continue to do well. January seemed to zip by without our noticing! We had a large number of guests joining us this month, so we had a lot of work at the beginning of the month finishing up houses for the guests. We are always excited to see new faces on the mission and are excited about the new families joining us in the work here! The new missionaries are: Chris & Tam Raynor and Jason, Madesha, and Levan Stapleton. We have spent a lot of time with the guests and will spend much time in the next few months getting Chris and Jason’s family involved with the work. The work at the Hospital continues well with the patient load being a little above average for this time of the year. One of our guests, Marian Rowe, taught CPR classes to some of the Staff. She also certified some people to continue teaching the courses. We are setting up a schedule for our School of Preaching students to teach at the Hospital, as there are many people there who can be reached. Please pray for these efforts. The Nursery School and Primary Schools started classes early this month. So far the two weeks we have been in operation have gone well. Please pray for the schools and the work that is being done. The School of Preaching classes are also back in session. We have 22 students who are presently studying the Word of God. The teachers have spent much time in preparation for the classes, and as a result, the classes are continuing well. The teachers also continue working in the field of evangelism. A Friendship Seminar was held at the Isitu congregation, which is on the other side of Chimala town. There were 150 adults and around 30 children in attendance. Fred Lemmons, one of our guests, spoke at the seminar and said that it went quite well. Please pray for all of the efforts put forth by all who gave their time to further God’s Word. As always, Carrie and I are very thankful for all the support that is given for the work here in Chimala! Truly many souls are reached through the efforts put forth here, and could not be done without your help. Thanks! In Christian Love, The Stapleton’s
