Ways You Can Help
Frequently, we receive requests from people wanting to know how they can help with this effort. The newsletters and quarterly publication will help considerably in keeping you up to date on what we need. We also have Needs Lists to help people see what is physically needed to keep the work going. These items can be mailed or brought to the Chimala Office, c/o New York Ave Church of Christ, 5371 New York Avenue, Arlington, TX 76018. They will then be shipped to Tanzania as a part of a larger shipment. Just like every mission work, Chimala can always use additional funds to help carry on the work that we are doing. You can also keep up with these financial needs through the publications. We have many congregations and individuals that make regular monthly donations for support of these efforts.
In December of each year, we have our annual fund drive to receive one-time contributions for the work. This fund drive asks people to contribute an equal amount of funds that they would spend on Christmas cards and postage. These funds are collected, in many congregations, by an annual Souls Not Cards/Hope For Humanity special contribution and then sent to us. Many individuals, whose congregations do not participate in this fund drive, mail their gift directly to us. Either way, we do so much appreciate those who help in this way, just as we appreciate those who help on a regular monthly basis.
